Night At The Family Dog + Go Ride The Music + West Pole (2DVD)

“A Night At The Family Dog / Go Ride The Music / West Pole” is a 3 program spotlight on the late 1960s San Francisco music scene with performances from The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Quicksilver Messenger Service and many others. 

A Night At The Family Dog was videotaped in February 1970 at Family Dog on the Great Highway in San Francisco. The show captures the heyday and diversity of the San Francisco sound with live performances from Santana, The Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane.

 Go Ride The Music was recorded in 1969, focusing on two of the Bay Area’s biggest bands at the time – Jefferson Airplane & Quicksilver Messenger Service.

 West Pole is an essay on the San Francisco music scene, originally airing in 1969. It features rare performances from local and national favorites, including The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Steve Miller Band, Ace of Cups and Sons of Champlin.

These programs were previously released as 2 separate releases 15-18 years ago – A Night At The Family Dog was released on DVD in 2005, with Go Ride The Music and West Pole being released as a 2DVD package a couple years later.

This 2023 version has been reauthored and combined into 1 release, with new artwork and a poster insert in the style of the San Francisco concert posters of the time period.
